Looking for a gum tree
Description:
Koalas, whose Latin name means ash-color bear with a bag, are one of the most charismatic Australian icons. To most people, they arouse feelings of tenderness. However, they are considered a vulnerable species throughout Australia due to the loss of the ecosystem and diseases. Every time they find more difficulties to find food. I wish we could help recover this species in other forests outside Australia, but its autochthonous diet based on eucalyptus leaves limits our options.
Significance of the artwork:
This artwork shows us how far we can reach when we need it.
It also speaks about the need to preserve nature, our environment.

Media selection (paper finish)
Satin – artist’s recommendation (Baryta & Platine)
For this artwork, I prefer a satin finish paper: Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag 310 gsm (Palace Edition) and Baryta Photographique 310 gsm (rest of editions), which provide a photo-realistic appearance, with deeper blacks and higher contrast than a matte paper
Matte – optionally (Edition Etching)
Looking for a gum tree looks beautiful both in satin and matte paper. A matte finish paper will provide a more pictorial look to this artwork. Although this paper finish is not my preferred option for this image, this artwork’s appearance using matte paper is also undoubtedly good. If you are looking for a softer and more poetic look or are not a fan of satin papers, then go for this option. We will use Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag 310 gsm, a slightly textured matte paper.
