Window to the Otways

Description:

Some people confuse the image of the stream inside the window with the forests in my birth country. However, there is a distinctive feature that the attentive observer will not overlook: the presence of fern trees which give a prehistoric look to Australian subtropical forests. The facade belongs to the Prado Museum, the most important art gallery in Spain.

With their abundance of species and fauna, the beauty of these forests causes a fascination for them that grows inside like the moss that covers the rocks of this stream. One would sometimes like to open a window, jump in and get lost in the leafy foliage of these wonderful places.

Significance of the artwork:

This artwork shows how we need nature, how connected we are with it, and how it boosts our well-being.

Editions

Media selection (paper finish)

Satin – artist’s recommendation (Baryta & Platine)

I prefer a satin finish paper for this artwork: Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag 310 gsm (Palace Edition) and Baryta Photographique 310 gsm (rest of editions). They provide a photo-realistic appearance, with deeper blacks and higher contrast than a matte paper

Matte – optionally (Edition Etching)

“Window to the Otways” looks much better with a satin paper, given the credibility that it provides to the scene. The matte finish is too soft for this artwork. Therefore, I don’t offer matte paper on this occasion. If you strongly prefer a matte finish, you will just need to send me a persuasive message using the contact form.
